Buffy Miller

Buffy Miller joined Jeanne Ruddy Dance as Administrative Assistant and Rental Coordinator in spring, 2007. She was a principal dancer with Ballet Tech (Feld Ballets/NY) from 1986 to 1997, and as a bi-annual guest artist from 2000 to 2004. During her tenure she participated in the creation of more than 30 new ballets by Eliot Feld and performed more than 50 works in repertory on national and international tours and at The Joyce Theater, the company’s home in New York. She has appeared as a guest artist with The New York City Ballet, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, and Kriota Willberg’s Dura Mater among others. She was honored with a Bessie (New York Dance and Performance Award) in 2001.
From 1997 to 2006 she lived in Portland, Maine where she worked as a dance teacher, barista, fashion assistant, freelance writer, architect’s assistant and independent choreographer, among other pursuits. She received a Maine Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship in Choreography in 2000, and for several years co-curated the performance series, A Stillhouse Run, as Co-Founder/Director of Stillhouse Studio Theatre.
