Renée Robinson-Buzby, a native of Holland, PA, received her BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU, she performed works by Barbara Grubel, Nicholas Leichter, Gus Solomens, Jr., Audrey Jung, Chris Burnside and Joe Goode, in addition to presenting her own works in two consecutive Student Faculty concerts, as well as venues throughout Richmond.
While pursuing her BFA, Renee worked professionally with Starr Foster Dance project. Awarded the Deans International Study Grant, she attended TanzWochen Wein International Dance Festival in Vienna, Austria in 1999. Currently, she is working as an independent choreographer and performer in Philadelphia.
Some of the many wonderful choreographers she has worked with in the past two years include: Myra Bazell, Brenda Kunda, Katherine Livingston, Janette Hough, Jeremy Kucholtz, and Rebecca Malcolm-Naib. Some of her own choreographic explorations include Unglued & Glue performance series and The Gender Project.
